Subscription cost calculator

Put monthly and annual subscriptions on the same footing. See the total in Canadian dollars.

Put the small charges in one place.

Sample entries are illustrative, not current product prices. Replace them with your own charges. Prices are treated as Canadian dollars; enter taxes and fees yourself if you want them included.

Your entries stay in this browser session and disappear when you reload. Nothing is connected to your bank and no cancellation is performed. Copying the result copies totals, not your subscription names.

Annual billing can hide in a monthly budget.

One subscription might charge every month, another once a year. This calculator multiplies monthly charges by 12 and adds annual charges as entered. The monthly figure is the annual total divided by 12, not the exact amount that will leave your account next month.

Annual total = monthly charges × 12 + annual charges
Monthly equivalent = annual total ÷ 12

A C$10 monthly subscription and a C$60 yearly subscription total C$180 a year, or C$15 per month on average. The five-year figure simply repeats that yearly total five times; it does not predict inflation, discounts or price increases.

Make the total useful.

Compare each service with how often you actually use it. Check renewals, cancellation terms and any data you need to export before cancelling. Do not cancel a backup service until your files are protected elsewhere.

The calculator does not convert currencies or automatically add taxes. For a foreign-currency service, use a Canadian-dollar amount from your statement if that is the cost you want to compare.

Follow the practical subscription audit.

A few useful answers

Are these real subscription prices?

No. The starting entries are clearly marked examples. Use the current amount from your invoice or statement, including taxes if you want them reflected.

Does this cancel anything?

No. This is a calculator. Visit the service itself and review its terms if you decide to make a change.

Why is the monthly equivalent different from my next bill?

An annual charge is averaged over 12 months here. Your bank statement will still show that charge in its actual billing month.
