Text is processed locally. It is not sent to an AI model or uploaded. Duplicate removal compares whole lines and is case-sensitive; it can remove repeated lines you intended to keep.
Small formatting changes, on your terms.
Choose which cleanup steps to apply. The tool first normalizes Windows and older Mac line endings to a newline. It can collapse repeated spaces, tabs and non-breaking spaces within a line; trim both ends; remove blank lines; and keep only the first occurrence of each exact line.
The order matters. With both trimming and duplicate removal enabled, apple and apple become one line. With trimming off, they remain different. Duplicate removal is case-sensitive, so Apple and apple are kept separately. You can switch an option off to recover a different output from the unchanged input.
Counts need a definition.
Characters are counted as Unicode code points. A single visible emoji can consist of several code points, so this is not a count of visual symbols. Word counting uses the browser’s international word segmentation where available, with a Unicode letter-and-number fallback. Different writing systems and applications can count words differently.
Bytes are the length of the cleaned text encoded as UTF-8, without adding a byte-order mark or a final newline. This may differ from a saved document’s file size because documents can include formatting, metadata or another encoding. Empty text has zero lines here.
Do not use whitespace cleanup on source code, tabular data or fixed-width records unless you understand the effect. This tool does not proofread, summarize, translate or guarantee that a formatting change preserves a specialised file format.

Is this an AI rewriting tool?
No. It applies the selected formatting operations. It does not call an AI service, change wording intentionally or correct spelling.
Can I undo the cleanup?
The input box is kept unchanged while settings alter the output. Keep a separate original before editing or clearing the input.
Why do character counts differ from another app?
Apps can count Unicode code points, UTF-16 code units or visible grapheme clusters differently. This tool reports code points and labels UTF-8 bytes separately.
